All species of animal including horses, cattle, alpacas, sheep, goats, deer, etc can be attended by our experienced veterinary surgeons. The area of travel extends from Gembrook to Bayswater incorporating Montrose, Macclesfield, The Basin, Tecoma and virtually all areas of the Dandenong Ranges. If required x-rays can be taken at your stable or farm but we much prefer to do these in our large cement area at the back of the surgery. This way if multiple or better views are required they can be taken & developed on the spot without having to travel backwards & forwards from the stable/farm.

Pre-purchase veterinary examinations (including a written report) of horses & ponies can be performed by our practice as well as blood typing and identification of racehorses & trotters/pacers. We have an Australian Stud Book approved veterinarian who is also a member of the Australian Equine Veterinary Association and has vast experience with dressage horses & miniature ponies. Minor surgeries under sedation or general anaesthesia (including gelding operations) can be performed. More complicated or specialist procedures (like colic surgery) can be referred to large equine centres such as the Melbourne University at Werribee if required. We can also see large animals at our surgery rather than at your stable/farm for a reduced fee.

Drenching and teeth rasping of horses can be performed at reasonable rates with multiple horses/ponies.

Our veterinary team works in conjunction with local farriers to arrange for specialist trimming, shoeing & hoof care if required.

Advice on feeding & nutrition can be given including cases such as ponies that are prone to laminitis/founder.
